Spring Delight Banquet - Exploring Chinese Healing Cuisine
Bayview Gardens Chinese Cuisine, Colony Hotel, 89 Chestnut Street
Ticket: $50.00 ($60.00 after April 5)
(Co-sponsored with the First North American Holistic Medicine Conference)

The exploration of healing cuisines from various cultures has been the focus of Flavours of Harmony, a unique series of banquets presented by FACT over the past few years.

The Spring Delight will feature the Chinese tradition where herbs and food are considered as one, and culinary concerns are foremost. The ten-course meal is based on a specially designed menu, and the participants will be conducted through the meal by the commentary of Dr. Steven Aung. As a child in Burma, Steven learned Chinese medicine and qigong from his grandfather. He later went through Western medical training and settled in Canada. He is now an Associate Professor in the University of Alberta, and has been a pioneer in complementary medicine in Canada and internationally.

Dr. Aung will also perform his qi-inspired calligraphy arts to support FACT. There will also be a classical Chinese zither performance, displays of herbs and tea, and lucky draws through the evening. The venue is the Bayview Garden Chinese Cuisine in the Colony Hotel on Chestnut Street, Toronto.

This evening will be co-sponsored with the First North American Holistic Medicine Conference, and we expect 200 people, including many colleagues from the United States. We will have a nice souvenir booklet with the program and menu; it will also feature many of our Corporate Members, representing the Canadian pioneers in the field of CAM.
